You’re 70+ years old, who CARES if you miss one thanksgiving? It’s just a made-up day when you eat turkey and watch football. Calm the fuck down. I’m not bringing my three kids who’re in school every day with 3/4 of kids not wearing masks. I’m not bringing your daughter who is a teacher and exposed to 30 kids every day and I’m not coming because I am a coach and see 15 kids twice a week.

I know they’ll complain about it from now till the end of time but at least I or my wife and kids won’t have to bury them and have that on their conscience. And that’s OK. A half dozen or so at work have gotten it and all have had mild cases. Management’s leaning into that to try to force more in-person meetings. Hell, they tried to get us to fly to Boston this week. A general revolt occurred and it got turned into a virtual meeting with a bunch of grousing that “virtual isn’t as effective as in-person.” Well, it’s better than having to use seances.
