The only thing that gave me even a little bit of hope was knowing that he was a big fan of the franchise, both the books and the games, and wanted to do Geralt justice. That was the only reason I gave it a shot, and not only was I am not disappointed, but I was also absolutely blown away. The very odd movie, almost Donnie Darko like but showed that Gosling could do more than romantic or family-friendly movies.

I was honestly surprised by Chris Evans in Captain America. I only saw him as Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four previously, so I wasn’t sure he could pull off the earnest, self-sacrificing hero of Cap, but damn did he nail it. Totally changed my mind about Robert Pattinson being solely a sparkly vampire. It’s been a long time since then though, and I’ve seen many movies with Robert Pattinson in them and he really is a great actor.
