Earth law will not be enforceable once an extraterrestrial colony is no longer reliant on Earth for support. How dare earth lawyers claim Mars law their domain. Money is fuelling the push into space. I don’t anticipate those providing it conceding to those who didn’t in terms of the establishment of space “ground rules”. And once that space money makes its way back here, you can bet it will only further entrench their influence. It seems to me like just because of physics, people that cannot get to mars would not be able to tell people that can get to mars what to do.
That would take so fuckin long that who knows what kind of nation-states even exist by then. Nor could you maintain that land given the ability for any nation to simply shoot over rockets to blow you off Mars in an instant. Am I to understand that you can’t even get out of the “social contract” by leaving planet Earth entirely? I thought the deal was you can leave if you don’t agree with or believe in the whole Statism thing that we inherited from the middle ages. It’s so bizarre to me that someone can figure out a way to get off of planet Earth, and the control freaks still believe that they have some sort of authority over them
