I mean as a dude I took this as a joke. Clearly, most of my friends would 100% react with a joke like this, but not in a bad way. Dudes handle a lot of stuff with humor, which is sometimes good but sometimes bad, depends on the circumstance. Yeah, most of my friends are aware and don’t seem to give a shit but I still get that same feeling every time I make friends with new guys. I think it’s just that the idea of a gay man having a crush on you is super uncomfortable to straight men. It’s the same feeling if a girl you are just not interested in even remotely has a crush on you. I realized from this post that I legitimately never considered this question, do gay men commonly have crushes on straight men?
