Should’ve been emergency laws put in place as soon as it spread to the US, with at least a harsh financial penalty and community service for those hosting gatherings over a certain size. I live down the street from a college-kid party house that I have to walk past with my young daughters to get to the local park/playground, and it makes me livid every time they have a big party in their yard. (For the record, we’re not passing by while they’re partying, and we have no interaction with them – it’s just the psychological connection for me that puts me on edge.)

I would rather prosecute the government officials that did nothing while a quarter-million people died but blaming random stupid individuals for not taking the virus more seriously than our own government sounds fun too.
