A month after I moved south, Irma hit. My one month boss called me and asked if I need to come to his place with my family, and when he and his family went to another state, he called before and asked if I’d like to join them with my family. Bruh let me tell ya, I’m in West Virginia “the miraculously clean” zone… Uhhh my company had a meeting of 40+ people this morning to discuss the April schedule. No one here has to take any precaution, at all, believing it’s just another flu. Like, it’s not even really here for most of us, and that alone is terrifying because I know it’s coming.
I keep waiting for this in Georgia. We have only like 125 or so confirmed cases statewide and some of those are people who came off a cruise ship under quarantine and are being held at the airbase. Almost no one has been tested. I keep waiting for the hospitals to get slammed but it’s not happening. Lots of people taking precautions anyway, public places are closing, etc. Don’t count on it – keep yourself safe. I’m in Appalachia Ohio and they all think Gov DeWine is overreacting (or in their words “overstepping”). People in these parts (and yours) are just plain stupid. I’m locked away for the foreseeable future and thankfully, since I’m self-employed, can work from home. But an adult child has to be in her retail job and is facing these idiots thinking it’s all a joke. I just hope all of the young people can fight the virus… there’s no hope for the old and stupid.
