Trying to describe him is hard because he was so many things to so many people. At his funeral, we asked our neighbor S to talk about dad because they were close. S told the story of how, after S’s accident, they had a machine they needed to put together to help S stand-up for his recovery. The family was in the garage struggling to put the pieces together and finally, their youngest boy brought dad over to help.
I miss my dad terribly, but I love talking about him. He left everything, and everybody, better than he found it. From random acts of kindness to strangers to his intense loyalty and helpfulness to family and friends it seemed like he was everywhere, all the time
