Sometimes you’ll want something so badly, and spend so much of your time working towards it, and by all means, deserve it as well, and still won’t get it. You could find yourself working towards something that was actually out of your hands, to begin with. It’s important to just keep working, towards something else. Maybe towards yourself!

Doesn’t matter how good you are at something, there will always be someone who is better than you at that thing. (Except for a single person I guess). As a “gifted” kid, it saved me a lot of stress that my parents told me this when I was young. Just because they’re your family, they aren’t always healthy for you.
