Pop-tarts – growing up my mom always got us the Great Value brand and I couldn’t stand it. Now as an adult, I understand the markup price on officially branded Pop-tarts and know why my mom was buying them Pots/pans. I hate how scraped up and worn out cheap pans can impact the ability to cook something perfectly e.g. how a pan can go from non-stick to stick, uneven heating, etc.

We were poor, my parents just divorced, my dad left the state, and my mom had to care for me in high school. She bought off-brand tampons that were “the same” as u by Kotex, and that was a huge lie. I would be in school and have to check constantly on bleeding through it. But it was weird because blood would be pouring out around the tampon but the tampon never actually absorbed or stop the blood. I remember pulling it out and it was pure white. Wtf.
