Jumping into this thread too I Hate When People Say Act Like An Adult Shirt encourages you both to look into IFS (Internal Family Systems). After a lot of research and interviews with therapists and patients alike, I found the effectiveness of this therapy to be very high and having deeper, longer-lasting effects than CBT for some. Not sure if it’s even something you’d study in CP but check it out if you’re interested! Thank you so much for bringing IFS up, I do need to learn about it further and I’ll take this as a reminder to do some research on it! I just graduated with my BoS in psychology and not my Ph.D. yet, so I haven’t begun to learn about therapy techniques in depth. CBT is not for everyone, and I’m glad you’ve found more impactful effects from IFS!
