Honestly, all it would take is one day. If you took off one day when your son is available and tell him Santa gave you the day off. Then make it the most memorable day ever- make pancakes for breakfast, play board games, take him to the grocery store and pick out all the chips and cookies you guys want. Use your phone to take little video clips of each of these things so he has them to watch and remember the next time you’re at work. He wouldn’t soon forget a whole day having you to himself.

OP- you’re a great dad! My dad was an OTR driver my whole life so he was gone for several days at a time. Yes, he did miss things, but he has always been there for me when I needed him- even if it was a phone call. Looking back, I’m in awe of how hard he worked and the stability of his job, and our teamster’s benefits brought to our family. I am so grateful because I know he made sacrifices to make it happen.
