It amazes me how many modern employers do not even attempt to pretend laws as FFCRA apply to them – they literally write their refusal to acknowledge legislature concerning workers’ rights in their god damn memos. I get 10 sick/personal days a year, and can’t use more than 5 in a row. My company also gave us 2 extra weeks if we’re confirmed with COVID cause they’reThe 2 weeks is a government requirement. So them trying to play it off as their idea is really fucked up.

Hey man, the shift workers at my place got 48 hours of extra sick leave to add to their 5 days. They work 12 hour days. So they have 9 total sick days for a pandemic-level virus that lasts 2 weeks. I’m salaried, but man the hourly folks get the shaft. Combining sick and personal days into PTO is fucking idiotic. It basically means if you take a sick day you’re penalized a vacation day.
