I’m actually pretty disappointed in Mads Mikkelsen here. I understand the need to act and make a living. However, Depp has been one of the best things about the fantastic beast movies so far, and really other than jack sparrow his biggest role. So for anyone to replace him is annoying. I think a lot of male actors need to look at the Depp/Heard situation and realize what is happening to Depp could easily happen to them.

The Grindelwald story is a bit meh, I think they should have gone full Tom Riddle on the follow up because there’s loads of cannon in the books that didn’t get into the films and you have a blank slate for large portions of time. The Harry Potter films were about stopping a muggle genocidal leader from taking over and Fantastic Beasts is pretty much the same. I’d prefer a dark Indiana jones meets classic detective with Voldemort overcoming foes and trials with an Aura that’s always one step behind.
