I’m glad he kept it quiet. As a widow who helped her husband pass from Colon Cancer, you want your husband to be known for his strength and not an illness. The media would have made a spectacle. He got the decency to a private death with his family. That is a way to honor a life. I know it’s hard but dying of colon cancer is brutal to watch.

My mother is going through the exact same thing right now. She won’t tell anyone what she’s going through and made us promise that we won’t tell our friends and other family members. It’s something she feel she doesn’t want to burden anyone else with and feels it’ll bring more unwarranted annoyances than good, or unneeded stress.
