Oh! Also, out of curiosity last night I decided to check what the campaign promises of Biden and Trump were. Biden has dozens of pages explaining his promises and vision for America (everything on-brand with The Biden Plan for <policy> or Joe Biden’s Agenda for I’ve always noticed in particular how if you sit and listen to a long speech of his, you basically need to be deep into politics, like inside baseball politics, to understand what the heck he’s going on about. He drops names of friends and enemies left and right like we’re supposed to know who they are. Bolton in this case is an easy one, but it’s always someone!
Instead of talking about policy, or broad issues, he basically talks about life as he perceives it deep inside Washington. Presented as an ultimate outside President, the speeches he gives are almost always super insider speeches that only even begin to make sense to DC wonks who know a laundry list of names and internal scandals and stories. They’re all watching the same TV show, Fox News. So it’s like he’s just bringing up stories about your favorite or least favorite characters and everyone cheers along like its a reunion show. They’re all just fans of the same story line.
