And recorders… They propped up stick piles as samples of what was found. I went to school trying to explain to everyone this was a real thing… It wasn’t until like 8 months later that larger theaters decided to pick it up since it did so well independently that I saw the actors on David Letterman or Jay Leno- the cat was finally out of the bag and I had egg on my face… None of my classmates believed me though because they hadn’t had the chance to watch it how I had.
Everyone thought it was real… “the found-footage story” was so authentic. I was always on the bl|ding edge of things by the time it got around to the rest of the world, it was just a motion picture horror movie. It must have been an original marketing scheme at the time!
