We fill out our ballot, put it in an inner envelope given to us. The ballot does not contain our name information, but the first envelope has our name, voter ID, and we need to sign it for the ballot to count. We then insert that envelope into an outer mailing envelope, which we can either mail via USPS for free, or drop off in a secure dropbox.
I’m a black British guy and the fact that the people in line are overwhelmingly black gave me mixed feelings. On the one hand, it’s fantastic that they are all there with so much drive to vote. But on the other hand, it’s disturbing that it’s such an event.
