I just turned 25, but I don’t think I’ve wasted my potential. I mean, I did “waste” my undergraduate degree in engineering because I’m going back to school for something completely different, but it’s never wasted. It’s just life. All of your experiences you’ve had have built you to be the person you are now. It’s never wasted potential because you’re still alive. You can still make changes and become whoever you need to. Before making those changes, I just recommend putting yourself on the right path, mentally. Make sure you know who you are, what your mistakes have been, what your traumas are. If you’re hiding from yourself, you’ll never be able to know what you need to change into.

I’ve been there. I’m still there in that mindset thinking and beating myself up with regret and guilt. But then when I look back at my teen years especially 16-20 and it was fucking hard. I hated everyone at that time. I was angry teen with pent-up aggression and that turned to depression and anxiety during my late teens. I missed so many opportunities in college, I missed having fun… I feel like I missed life. But then those years I’ve realized I have been surviving and if I hadn’t done whatever I did back then, then maybe I wouldn’t be in whatever position I’m in now. So I keep that in mind that whatever I’m doing now, my future self will be thankful for.
