Every zombie film where the zombies don’t disappear completely after a few weeks when they get eaten by much stronger wild animals and when they’re bodies deteriorate to the point they have no tendons or muscles and therefore literally no way to fucking move. I was thinking about this when watching the walking dead. Even if being a zombie somehow slowed down the decaying process it’s been years and years and years. Nothing else in the world changed physically as far as we can tell, why are the zombies around still?

It’s explained in the book! He escapes in Animagus form when the Dementors bring him food. Dementors can’t really see and it is hard for them to sense animal emotions, so they were confused by his animal form. Since he was unregistered as an Animagus, no precautions were taken to prevent this. Once he was past the Dementors he swam back to the mainland in his Animagus form.
