I knew Rachel and I’m glad her story is getting attention. Living in Tallahassee at the time we did not feel the outrage that her story deserved. There were no news vans. No protests. No riots. The Tallahassee Police Department murdered a young girl and it felt like nothing happened. I’ve learned there was a 20/20 and Dateline episode a year later but I don’t remember her death causing as much outrage as was justified.
