It’s more about the force-feeding of the religious doctrine of “faith > facts”. Who needs education when you have faith in the LORD? Who needs healthcare when you have faith in the LORD? Who needs anything in this world when the afterlife awaits you with the LORD? Religion was invented to control people and it’s still doing that to this day.

Meh, I don’t buy this explanation anymore. During the Bush years, yes, but ever since Trump most young people I know on the right are both extremists and apathy towards religion. The religious right still exists on, but they aren’t going to represent the next generation of fasc.
