The teacher here, and it is almost never worth it to try and fight a dress code violation unless it is really violating the dress code. Distracting clothing is not the same as offensive clothing (or else why would we have dress-up weeks?). I would never have bothered to pick that battle myself. That being said, you teach your child to disrespect teachers when you speak to teachers that way yourself.

ESH the teacher made a big thing out of a small thing which was unnecessary. You sent your kid to school in a tacky-ass shirt and when the teacher didn’t like it you responded like the kind of person who sends their kid to school in tacky-ass clothes. Grow up.
