Cahuilla and the Miwok and many other tribes were nomadic and moved camp with the seasons. They didn’t have many permanent structures due to the need for regular burns to renew the plant life rotated through areas as they traveled, gathered, and traded all up and down the coast.

When in fact humans created the prairies and due to lack of regular burns in places all over the middle-west plants and trees have taken over that have compromised and destroyed the prairie that once megafauna grazed upon.
