After years of working 60-70+ hour weeks in cutthroat corporate settings, a considerable number of “intelligent” people in this country are no longer what you would call “emotionally balanced.” I’ve seen the way it transforms people who were mostly normal and affable into arrogant, ruthless people whose lives revolve solely around work and whose lifestyle will likely lead them to an early grave.
