It’s all fate and faith and stuff that works best in a Space Opera, not a Science Fiction show. I like my Sci-Fi to ask questions about the underlying modes that form the world around us and how we as intelligent creatures react to them.
This is abjectly wrong prima facie. A lot of what Star Trek is actually known for is the work of the other Gene who worked on the show, Gene L. Coon, I’ll skip the canonical list of his contributions to cut to what’s important.
