Boxer Dad Dog US Flag Face Mask The Man The Myth The Legend Shirt

I worked in fast food and put in a ton of effort expecting it to pay off. It never did. At the same time, I had co-workers who did next to nothing and still kept their jobs. It took me some time to realize they never expected me to go above and beyond and they were taking advantage of my work ethic. They wouldn’t say it out loud, but they were fine with minimum effort because they paid the minimum, and having a half brain dead seat filler was better than having no one. I stopped working so hard, kept my job, and used my experience to leverage myself into a new job. I too did my time in fast food. Quickly learned that busting my ass just got more responsibilities piled on, being reliable meant more coworkers would no show because id be there, and managers would always call me first to cover shifts.

On top of that most stuff is bought in bulk so the cost for a corporation is way less than for most people. I used to do the price changes, they would go up randomly while cost stayed low. Your paying for someone’s bonuses, the savings get passed on to the CEO and the investors. The cost will always be on the employees and the buyers. I think the issue is that some labor just isn’t worth $15 an hour. As soon as that becomes the legal minimum wage, it’ll be cheaper to use more robots/technology for certain parts of those jobs and many of these jobs will be gone within a few months years.
