A similar thought process is if I give to the charity I should give all my disposable income to charity because it’s morally right to help people. But by giving anything I’m helping so I should still do that even if morally speaking it is discordant if one thinks in terms of all or nothing. As a vegan, I will always advocate and encourage veganism. That is always my primary goal. But ANY reduction I’ll encourage just as much because it’s helping. If one thinks in terms of all or nothing then no progress would be made. Small changes are why now I can have vegan options at my local Aldi or Walmart even though I live in a smallish southern city.
