I have to say, be cautious of this. People may worry about being infected, feel they may be struggling to breathe and anxiety takes over confirming their worries sending them into a panic attack and they call emergency services. The death toll does seem to be underreported for various reasons but is careful you don’t end up being the one with anxiety because you have overexposed yourself to worry. Just be careful with your mental health is.
I listened to the scanners for NY, at the beginning they would say “Elderly with breathing difficulties”, “52-year-old male with difficulty breathing” and then read out the address (zip code), I was not pressured but there were a few cases in a row every now and then. A few days later, that was shortened to Breath. Diff. and zip code, like a fast-paced air traffic controller, just constant cases one after another. I think they set up a new system just for COVID to alleviate the EMS.
