I made a point to try it when I visited England a few years ago. It was delicious. I loved it. I would definitely eat it again. Some people have a problem with aspic that I’ve never understood, because aspic is pretty great, and eel is a delicious fish too. I seriously don’t understand the problem.
For me, the eel pieces are very nice. It’s quite a meaty fish, almost comparable to a well-done tuna steak but much firmer and slightly fishier. They’re actually very pleasant if you don’t mind spitting the spine out. I’ve never had eel, in any way/shape/form, but I’m sure it’d be good in many other forms.
