Looks like they’re trying to paint specifically Trump as the bad guy since they explicitly stated they don’t have anything against the American people. As many others have said, they’re probably trying to turn some portion of the American people against Trump so we don’t elect him again. I say we give into their propaganda and not elect him again. Is it still propaganda if it’s for a good cause?
They are playing a smarter game than Trump. By saying these things they paint themselves as the innocent party, western civilians generally have little appetite for another war and Trumps spent years pissing on his allies. By downplaying their reaction and statements it helps paint Trump and the Americans as untrustworthy, bloodthirsty bullies.
