The shippers said they left it out in the sun for a few days on a table or something, to “get rid of bugs”. We were in the high desert, so anything that came out wouldn’t have survived long, but I never did see any. I also handled all of it and had no reaction, so I assume their bug-ridding methods were effective!
Its a very different story when you send peanuts in the mail to someone unknowingly. No reasonable person can expect there to be actual peanuts in the package, and any reasonable person would know that peanuts are a common and deadly allergy.
