Then he gets to describing the events of the accident itself. He calls 911 from the scene. His car is too badly damaged to keep going. A sheriff responds. The sheriff, wanting to spare Ravnsborg having to “wait for a tow truck” LENDS HIM HIS OWN CAR. Ravnsborg accepts. Somehow, neither the sheriff nor Ravnsborg spot the body. Nor did Ravnsborg “see” what he hit.
Instead of calling 911 on the spot, the AG says he “immediately headed to sheriff Volek’s home.” Volek returns to the scene and instructs Ravnsborg (and I assume the AG’s chief of staff) to return home while he handles the investigation.
