I get that modern TV storytelling is serialized with season-long arcs and that self-contained episode aren’t really a thing anymore outside of cost-saving measures. But I would still like to see some effort for internal self-consistency, and the thoughtfulness and intelligent en details and threads that we’re given.
Personally, I liked season 1. The mirror universe episodes were a delight. I loved the Mudd episode. The twists were fun. I went from disliking to liking most of the cast. Tilly was great and developed in a way that was meaningful. And while it was still finding its legs, I thought it was pretty solid.
