You really hit the nail on the head here. The Republican establishment is basically comprised of three groups: the billionaires that fund the party and dictate policy, the legislators that enact that policy, and the conservative media that cover their asses and retroactively justify everything they do. Eventually, when the politicians are obviously pushing harmful policies that only benefit the donor class, conservative media can’t just run supply-side talking points.
