If you open up the schools this was guaranteed to happen. We’ve got a Republican party and president who are working every day to misinform the public. A third of the country is living in the upsidedown world and think it’s not even dangerous. No shit people were going to knowingly send their kids to school. The president is now telling people to try for herd immunity! Expect more true believers. It is not safe to send your kids to school, period.

It’s almost as if the entire point of having a government is because getting a bunch of people to do the right thing is like herding cats, and there needs to be an established authority to enforce specific, discrete rules on behavior, and that simply abdicating that duty to a vague “personal responsibility” or disparate lower authorities completely defeats the fucking purpose of having a government.
