The politician said he was walking to the State Capitol around midnight when he saw a group of demonstrators in the street. He decided to use his phone to capture what was happening. As he did, three people rushed toward him, saying something about his phone. One knocked it out of his hand. He said he was then sucker-punched. He fell to the ground and was battered by several people.
A media member, who witnessed the assault, told police approximately ten people punched and kicked the politician while he was on the ground, and as the politician tried to explain that he is an ally.

I remember being like 12 and having to go to my grandparents’ friend’s house where there was nothing interest at all. This is in the late 80s mind you. I turn on the TV and lo and behold but the fucking John Carpenter’s The Thing just started. It was like the Heavens parted and cherubim came down from the sky. I went from wanting to die to hope my grandparents hung out for long enough to watch The Thing. I completely agree. I rewatched it last week and it holds up amazingly well. It’s actually still genuinely unsettling and terrifying. Definitely in my top 5 horrors of all time.
