I mean, obviously, it’s not a good or sustainable financial situation to be in. I’m just more commenting on how common and prolific the issue is. I recently started my first salaried career-type job and I’m still blown away every month when I have money left over, even after sending some automatically to savings at the beginning of the month. Constantly reminded of how lucky a position I’m in. I have the money for a baby, but I like having the money. So no babies for my wife and me, thanks though. Many millennials are simply making better financial decisions than our parents.

Imagine your life now, working 40/50/60 hours a week and coming home barely able to keep your eyes open, and dreaming of the weekend so you can finally get rest. Now add screaming kids into the mix, that you have to take to and from school every day and buy them shit and pay for twice as much food and spend time with them, etc. etc. etc. Yeah no thanks, I am never having kids. I barely have free time or energy or money as it is. I love how they’re not even trying to hide it anymore with flowery language- they just flat out admit “the replacement level” is falling.
