That seems like a not-unreasonable price tag to put on one single attempt at helping to revitalize a state’s economy. Might be a misguided attempt, as I have no idea why one might even want to visit South Dakota or how much tourism an ad like this would even bring in given we’re in the middle of a pandemic, but CBS is making the price tag seem like it’s a lot bigger deal than it is, IMO. “The 30-second spot, which premiered on Fox News alongside Noem’s speech at the Republican National Convention last month, features the governor saying that “with our breathtaking landscapes and wide-open spaces, we’re a place to safely explore.” But the state currently ranks second in the country for new cases per capita over the last two weeks, with 439 new cases per 100,000 people.”
Wow, who would have thought that a middle-aged white man that was born wealthy would use a federal grant to further his own wealth in whatever manner he can? Gee, it’s almost like the whole damn country’s corrupt beyond all repair or something. I get the feeling Redditors stuck in California and New York hate the fact that some states aren’t locked down. Like you guys literally want people to die in South Dakota just to validate your own biases.
